[bug] Notification list shows duplicate results on first open

At a glance

The community member noticed that when they open the notifications dropdown immediately after a full page refresh, they see items twice. However, after closing and reopening the dropdown, they only see the items once. The community member provided still frames from a video to illustrate the issue, showing the initial state, the loading placeholder, and the duplicate and single results appearing. Another community member responded that they were able to reproduce the issue, but only flakily and only in deployed environments, and that they would investigate further once they were back in the office. There is no explicitly marked answer.

I noticed that if I open the notifications dropdown immediately after a full page refresh, I see items twice. But then after closing and opening it I see the item only once. Unfortunately I can't upload a video screen recording (nudge nudge) but here are some still frames from the video:

Then I click the button to dismiss the popup.

Thanks for the detailed report! I've managed to reproduce it but only flakily, and only in deployed environments. I'll have a good look once I'm back in the office.
